Exposure level
The exposure level is a value that indicates the extent to which your employees can take up the hazardous substance. The value depends on two factors:

  • the dose of hazardous substance to which an employee is exposed
  • how often exposure takes place and how long it lasts

You can determine the exposure level in three ways:

  • with a quantitative estimation method or quantitative model
  • by measuring or having it measured
  • sometimes: on the basis of the extended SDS but only if your situation is exactly the same as the exposure scenario in the SDS
